7 Of The Best No Carb Bread Options

A selection of the best no carb bread

When I switched to a low carb diet I quickly discovered how much I missed bread. I always knew that I enjoyed bread but it wasn't until I started eliminating it from my diet that I realized how much bread I ate. If you're trying to kick carbs or simply not spike your blood sugar, you know that traditional baked goods are a no go. But who wants live in a world where you can't eat bread?  Certainly not me. That's why I've been on a mission to find the best no carb bread, as in bread that actually tastes good.

This list below contains 7 of the best no carb bread options that I've found so far. It's still a work in progress. But in the meantime if you're searching for bread, bagels or even hamburger buns that contain zero net carbs, you've come to the right place. Best of all they don't require any baking so they can be used to quickly create low carb meals, snacks and even desserts.

If you love savory bagels, you'll really like these zero carb everything bagels. They are covered in tasty seasoning that will make you happy that you found them. The texture is a bit harder than a traditional bagel but they toast well and taste divine with plain cream cheese.  If you like a lot of flavor and are feeling a little adventurous try pairing it with veggie cream cheese...it's seriously awesome!

They are one of the best no carb bread options because they can be used a variety of ways. One of my favorite ways is to use them to create a delectable bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich (which happens to be one of my all time favorite breakfast sandwiches and something that I didn't think I'd be able to eat on a low carb diet).

It's also great to toast until it's extra crispy.  Then cut it into small pieces and serve with a meat cheese plate. While I absolutely love a good meat and cheese plate it didn't seem quite the same without some hard crusty bread on the side. But these everything bagels are divine to pair with a meat and cheese plate and serve along side a gourmet dipping oil.

Not a fan of savory bagels? *Spolier Alert* There's a zero carb cinnamon bagel that can be found further down the page.

In my opinion this is probably the best low carb bread option. Why you ask? Because it's actual sandwich bread that doesn't require any baking. It tastes good and doesn't have any odd aftertaste that certain low carb foods have. The texture isn't quite as soft as traditional white bread, it's a bit more like sour dough bread but overall it's awesome!

Another thing that I love about sandwich bread is that it's super versatile! It can be used to create deli style sandwiches which are perfect for an easy work or school lunch. They can also be used to make hot sandwiches like the ever so good, classic grilled cheese. And of course they're great for simple toast, French toast or a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

This zero carb white bread is good to have on hand for the holidays or for special occasions. No, I'm not suggesting that you serve a basic sandwich and try to pass it off as a holiday feast. But I am saying that it's perfect to use as a base to create a low carb version of traditional holiday dishes. For example this bread is great to use as a base to create a savory low carb Thanksgiving stuffing or even to make bread pudding to serve as a low carb dessert at your next dinner party, which is why I stand by my claim that it's the best no carb bread!

Are you tired of having bunless burgers?  I was too.

I live in sunny Florida and grilling is pretty much a year round activity. While I do enjoy grilled chicken and salmon, I also enjoy a savage burger.  But it's just not the same without the bun. So after a lot of searching I finally found these yummy low carb hamburger buns.

The consistency of these buns holds up well even when loaded with toppings. They are delicous too! Of course it's not the same taste as buns that are fresh from the bakery, but they are still tasty. And with zero net carbs, they are one of the best no carb bread options for cookouts!

Not only are they great for burgers but can also be used to create low carb versions of restaurant style sandwiches. These buns are perfect to create a sandwich like TGI Fridays turkey and avocado BLT.

P.S. If you're more of a hot dog person, check out these low carb hot dog buns. They're not zero carb but at 2 net carbs per bun, there isn't much to complain about.

If you're a bagel lover but are trying to stick to low carb, keto or manage your blood sugar, these zero carb bagels from ThinSlim Foods are a life saver! They are have a nice cinnamon flavor making them great not only for a quick breakfast but also a satisfying snack that will help keep your sweet tooth in check.

The bagel has a soft texture and great flavor. The taste and texture of these isn't 100% the same as a regular flour based bagel. But's it's still really good. And considering it has zero net carbs I can live with it not tasting the same as a Dunkin Donuts cinnamon raisin bagel (which has a whopping 63 grams of net carbs).

Unlike the low carb everything bagels from the Great Low Carb Bread Co, these are closer to a standard size bagel.

Not everyone is keen on rye bread.  So if rye bread doesn't float your boat, you're likely not going to think this is  one of the best no carb bread options.  But if you do like this type of bread, you'll likely agree that sometimes plain bread just doesn't cut it. Especially if you're in the mood for something like a Reuben sandwich. Rye bread is also more nutritious than white bread.

This zero carb rye bread is really good in terms of taste and consistency.  And just like with the white bread it can be used to create a variety of recipes such as homemade low carb croutons and bread crumbs.

It's also a little classier than white bread which makes it a great choice to use when creating low carb party appetizers.  A couple of ideas for appetizers include tea party style finger sandwiches or toasting it well, cutting it into quarter size pieces and serving it with a warm and hearty dip, such as buffalo chicken or a reuben dip.

Sandwich pockets are great for all sorts of yummy sandwiches. If you like onion flavor, these pockets won't disappoint! The onion seasoning on these pockets is delicious! The consistency is good too as they hold up well for both hot and cold pockets.

They onion pairs nicely with hot deli style sandwiches such as steak and cheese pockets or even a gyro! But they are also one of the best no carb bread choices for cold pockets like tuna salad, chicken salad, roast beef or really to pair with any of your favorite deli meats and cheeses.

Not only does this cinnamon bread not have any net carbs, it's has a nice sweet flavor too. The texture is a bit drier than traditional bread though. So if you're looking for a quick breakfast that's a little more exciting than plain toast and butter, while this is more flavorful than white bread, it does need a good amount of butter or cream cheese to help make it more moist.

Because of it's cinnamony goodness it's also a great base to use to create French toast. The addition of syrup over the French toast also helps makes the bread nice and moist. Use one of these low carb maple syrups to keep it a low carb breakfast.

Overall, this bread is decent (and is the best zero carb cinnamon bread that I could find). With that being said, if I wasn't creating a list of the best no carb bread options, my pick for cinnamon bread would be from the Great Low Carb Bread Co. Their low carb cinnamon bread  only contains 1 net carb and it's super delicious.

Additional Low Carb Bread Options

If you're looking additional types of bread that are not on this list of the best no carb bread options, there are a actually quite a few other breads to choose from. They're not zero carb, but are very low in net carbs and are also storebought so they don't require any baking.

I'd recommend that you start by checking out the Great Low Carb Bread Company.  They make a variety of low carb bread such breadsticks, sub rolls, pizza crust and pretzels.  They also make bread and bagels in a ton of different flavors.  Best of all, most of their bread products contain only a few net carbs.
